Seven Deadly Sins: Dragon's Judgement TV anime series has revealed a new visual, PV and staff, premieres Jan 6, 2021
The official website and Twitter of the TV anime adaptation of Nakaba Suzuki's Seven Deadly Sins manga series have announced that the fourth season of the series will begin broadcasting on January 6, 2021. The anime's 2nd key visual, PV, and series' staff were also revealed. Season 3's Studio DEEN and Marvy Jack are returning to handle the series' animation.
The staff of the new season of the series will reprise their roles which includes Susumu Nishizawa as the series director, Rintarō Ikeda as the scriptwriter, Hiroyuki Sawano, Kohta Yamamoto, and Takafumi Wada as the music composers, Rie Nishino as the character designer, and Chikako Yokota as the sound director.
The Japanese title was originally translated as Anger's Judgement, but the official English title is Dragon's Judgement. The new season was originally scheduled to premiere last October 2020 but it has been delayed due to the effects of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The series is based on the Japanese fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Nakaba Suzuki. It was serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine from October 2012 to March 2020, with the chapters collected into forty-one tankōbon volumes. The manga features a setting similar to the European Middle Ages, with its titular group of knights representing the seven deadly sins.
The series was adapted into an anime television series where the first two seasons titled "The Seven Deadly Sins" and "The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments" are produced by A-1 Pictures, which ran October 2014 to June 2018 with a total of 48 episodes. 3 original video animation (OVA) episodes and 4 special episodes were also released during that time. The third season of the anime under the title "The Seven Deadly Sins: Imperial Wrath of the Gods" was then premiered on October 9, 2019 with 24 episodes animated by Studio Deen in collaboration with Marvy Jack.
A film was also released last August 2018 titled "The Seven Deadly Sins the Movie: Prisoners of the Sky" which premiered in Japanese theaters.
