Bungou Stray Dogs Wan gag spin-off TV anime series premieres January 12, animation by Studio BONES x Nomad
The official website of the TV anime series adaptation of Kanaineko's Bungou Stray Dogs Wan! manga has revealed on Saturday a promotional video (PV) for the upcoming gag spin-off TV anime franchise of the series of the same title. The PV has revealed that the new series will begin broadcasting on January 12, 2021 and unveiled the series' ending theme song.
The series will premiere on January 12 at 24:30 (effective January 13 at 12:30 a.m. JST) on Tokyo MX 1, BS11, MBS, and WOWOW. The ending theme song for the series will be a cover song from the first season of the Bungo Stray Dogs TV series titled "Namae wo Yobu yo" to be performed by Yūto Uemura, playing the role of Atsushi Nakajima in the series.
The series production will be handled through the collaboration of animation studios Bones and Nomad. Satonobu Kikuchi is directing the series, with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu handling series composition, and Hiromi Daimi designing the characters. The main cast members will reprise their roles which includes Yūto Uemura as Atsushi Nakajima, Mamoru Miyano as Osamu Dazai, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Doppo Kunikida, Sumire Morohoshi as Kyōka Izumi, Kensho Ono as Ryūnosuke Akutagawa, Kishō Taniyama as Chūya Nakahara, Hiroshi Kamiya as Ranpo Edogawa, Hiroyuki Kagura as Kenji Miyazawa, Yu Shimamura as Akiko Yosano, Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Junichirō Tanizaki, Chiaki Omigawa as Naomi Tanizaki and Rikiya Koyama as Yukichi Fukuzawa.
Bungou Stray Dogs Wan! was announced by KADOKAWA last June 2020. The series is based on the comedy spinoff manga written and illustrated by Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa showing the manga's characters in SD form in comedic gag scenes.
