The official Twitter of Atsushi Okubo's "Fire Force (En En no Shōbōtai)" TV anime series has released a new key visual on Tuesday featuring the Joint Investigation Arc! The 2nd season of the series listed with 24 episodes is currently broadcasting on Japan's MBS and TBS as part of the Super Animeism block, and streaming in Funimation. Aniplus Asia is also broadcasting the series in Southeast Asia.

"Fire Force", known as "En En no Shōbōtai" in Japan, is an anime produced by David Production, based on the manga written and illustrated by Atsushi Ōkubo. The series is becoming even more popular in Japan to the point many of its citizens consider the characters of the series as the new model of fire disaster control and protection in the country.

The story follows a group of firefighters called Special Fire Force who fights against a phenomenon called Spontaneous Human Combustion where humans beings are turned into living infernos called “Infernals.” While the Infernals are First Generation cases of spontaneous human combustion, later generations possess the ability to manipulate flames while retaining human form.

Ohkubo launched the series in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in September 2015. The manga inspired a television anime series that premiered last July, and the 24th and final episode of the first season aired on December 27, 2019. The series' 2nd season started airing on July 4, 2020.
